Hello, I understand from.a previous post that the car insurance covers car seats up to £300. Is this provided in cash, so that I would be able to add the remaining amount to replace a car seat like for like? My car seat cost £379 and cannot be purchased from a high street retailer.

You are covered for up to a maximum of £300 per incident. This isn't paid in cash, I'm afraid.

The child car seat will be replaced if there is a valid claim for an accident. To give you peace of mind, we will do this even if there is no apparent damage to the seat.

We will replace the seat with one of a similar model and standard .

Please be aware, the car seat is not covered if it is not fitted to the insured car at the time of the accident.

@ChristopherP Can I ask how the 300 is paid then? Is it vouchers for a shop like Halfords? If this is the case, I wouldn't be able to get a seat of a similar model and standard, as my car seat is Swedish plus tested for extended rear facing and I wouldn't replace my seat with one that wasn't tested to this standard. From what my understanding shops like halfords or smyths do not stock extended rear face Swedish plus tested seats.
