I have tried setting up a standing order from my Halifax bank account to pay £25 a month off my credit card, as there is already a direct debit set up to come out of my husband's account, but it says "Sorry the sort code you've provided doesn't accept credits. Please check that you've entered the number correctly or contact the recipient for an alternative way to pay". So can I not do this?? That is annoying if so!

Hi , thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear that you've been having problems online. The details above are definitely correct, so you should be able to set up a standing order. Have you tried calling Halifax to see if they can set up the payment over the phone?
