I'm trying to find an answer to my question online but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I paid my Credit Card in full but I've got a direct debit in place that pays my minimum payment every month. Which comes out of my bank in two weeks. I also got my new statement a few days ago will the direct debit still be taken on the 12th of February?

Hi @Rob1987

Your direct debit will only collect the amount that is outstanding.
So as you paid your Credit Card off in full and there is no outstanding balance then the direct debit will not be taken.

There's nothing to pay, you've already paid off the full balance.

The direct debit is only there for anything outstanding.

Hey @Rob1987 , thanks for getting in touch. If you just have a minimum or fixed payment set up, we will always collect this as long as there is balance left to pay. If you've paid off the full amount on the statement, then the direct debit shouldn't be taken just as @25H and @CSKBrambles outlined. Thanks guys! :)

One last Question. If I go buy something will the direct debit kick back in to collect Payment?

Hi @Rob1987

If you do buy something soon on your credit card the bill for this purchase will go onto your NEXT statement.
Therefore the direct debit will kick in after this statement has been produced, in your case it will come out around 12th March if you've not paid it off beforehand.

The simple answer to your question is NO, the direct debit will not kick back in.

Anything spent now will go onto your next statement, payment due around the 12th of next month.
