Tesco Bank Home Insurance covers mobile phones and tablets for theft within the home (tablets are covered for accidental damage under home entertainment equipment cover as standard). If you need your mobile covered for accidental damage when at home, you would need to add personal possessions cover (which includes cover for items away from the home) or add accidental damage to cover your mobiles in the home only. You can add accidental damage to your policy via Your Insurance Account, which is available 24 hours a day. There will be no fee for making a change to your policy (when accepted via Your Insurance Account), but there will be an increase in premium for adding this to your policy.   Once you log in, click on the Make changes option Scroll down and under Your home section, click Amend content cover Select the date you want your change to take effect from, read the statements carefully and if accepted, click Confirm Click Yes under the question Would you like to add accidental damage cover? then scroll down and click continue You will then be presented with the cost to make the change and the option of adding any optional extras to your policy whilst making the change If you're happy and want to go ahead, click Go to checkout. If you do not want to go ahead, click Back to your account If you do not want go ahead and need some time to think about the quote, this will be stored and can be accessed via Your saved change quotes on your account page. You can't collect Clubcard points on your Tesco Home Insurance Premium.  Clubcard members do get a guaranteed discount on the policy, however this discount does not apply to Home Emergency cover or Family Legal Guard.

Your cover will depend on which policy you have. You can view your level of cover by logging into Your Insurance Account and viewing your policy documents.   Contents - Contents cover protects the belongings you have in and around your home, the things you take with you when you move home – up to a maximum £100,000. If you are an existing customer your contents cover limit will be detailed on your Policy Schedule. Tesco Bank Contents Insurance includes:   Cover for your contents against theft, fire, flood and storm  Cover for your contents when moving home Alternative accommodation and storage 24 hour Household Emergency Helpline (for Tesco Underwriting Finest policies only) Options to extend your cover for an additional premium, like cover for personal possessions or extended accidental damage Option to specify your high value items for cover away from the home Buildings - Buildings insurance covers the structure of your home, including drives and any outbuildings, as well as fixtures and fittings - these are things you don't take with you when you move home. Tesco Bank Buildings Insurance covers the rebuild cost of your home if it is damaged or destroyed. Value and Standard policies provide cover for up to £1million and all other polices provide unlimited cover. All our policies include cover for alternative accommodation and rent – the limits of this cover vary depending on the policy you hold. You will have to specify any items that you wear or carry outside of the home, that are individually worth over £2,000 - such as an engagement ring, watch or camera. You can cover 1 item worth £20,000 or a number of items up to that limit. By specifying an individual item, you’ll be covered for loss, theft and damage of these items anywhere in the UK (including in your home) and for up to 60 days when you're abroad. If you took out a new policy after May 2013 there is no individual limit in the home, however away from the home, anything over £2000 would need to be specified and would be an additional charge. If you’re a Value, Standard or Finest customer you need to tell us about any valuable item which is over the limits below. By specifying an individual item, you’ll be covered for loss, theft and damage of these items anywhere in the UK (including in your home) and for up to 60 days when you're abroad. The Value policy automatically covers single items up to £1,500 each when in the home. The Standard policy automatically covers single items up to £2,000 each when in the home. For our Value, Standard and Finest policies - items in the garage or shed are covered up to the contents sum insured listed on your Policy Schedule. For policies taken out after May 2013 – if you have a garage, shed or outbuilding, then there is a limit of £5,000 for theft. You can change your address 24 hours a day through Your Insurance Account. All you need is your new postcode and house number, some information on the property such as what year it was built, type of building and construction type, then we can provide you with a quote. Please see our existing FAQ 'How do I change my address on Your Insurance Account?' for instructions on how to do this. If you go ahead and change your address via Your Insurance Account then no administration fee will be applied but your premium may change.

Bicycles whilst kept in the home are covered up to the contents sum insured. Cover away from the home can be added to your policy for an increased premium. This provides cover up to £2,500 with a limit of £1,000 for a single bicycle. You can add this to your policy via Your Insurance Account, which is available 24 hours a day. There will be no fee for making a change to your policy (when accepted via Your Insurance Account) but there will be an additional cost for adding this to your policy. If your bicycle is kept in an outbuilding, it is covered under the contents in your outbuildings cover, which has a limit of £5,000 for all items. If you have Tesco Finest Home Insurance, bicycles away from the home are automatically covered up to £5,000 with a limit of £2,000 per bicycle. Cover away from the home is anywhere in the UK including your home and up to 60 days when you’re abroad. Please check your Policy Schedule to check if you have this cover. If you have our Tesco Finest policy, this includes cover for boiler breakdowns. For all other types of Tesco Bank policies, this can be added as an optional extra, called home emergency cover. You can add this to your policy via Your Insurance Account, which is available 24 hours a day. Should you suffer a breakdown or failure of the central heating boiler within your home, then: * we will organise an Engineer to come to your home * we will pay for the call-out, labour, parts, materials and VAT involved in repairing or remedying the breakdown and/or failure of the boiler * if a new part is required, we will endeavour to source it in the quickest time possible * if your boiler is beyond economic repair then we will pay an amount towards its replacement. Damage caused by escape of water from your boiler or any water installation is covered under the home insurance policy itself. For details of limits and exclusions please see your Policy Booklet. Home Emergency cover is underwritten by Interpartner Assistance SA You can add home emergency via Your Insurance Account, which is available 24 hours a day. Once you log in, click on the Make changes option Scroll down and under Your home section, click Amend content cover Select the date you want your change to take effect from, read the statements carefully and if accepted, click Confirm Without making any changes, scroll down and click Continue You will then be presented with a screen that says there is no additional payment for your change, however you still need to add the chosen optional extra to your policy To do this, please scroll down to the Extend your cover section and choose your optional extra Click update your quote within the Your quote section. You will then be presented with the cost of adding this to your policy If you're happy and want to go ahead, click Go to checkout. If you do not want to go ahead, click Back to your account

You can log on to Your Insurance Account to view details of your insurance renewal invitation approximately 21 days before your renewal date. This will contain details of next year’s premium, any changes to the terms and conditions and whether you need to contact us to complete your renewal. If you want to renew your policy, you can renew it yourself by logging in to Your Insurance Account. Once logged in, click View renewal on the home page Please check all the information is up to date You will then be asked if your happy to automatically renew or whether you want to change your payment details (please note that if you pay in full, your payment will be taken immediately) Continue using the on screen instructions to confirm your payment details If your policy is set to automatically renew, you don’t need to do anything unless your circumstances have changed or you want to make a change to your policy. If you pay by Direct Debit your new payments will start automatically. If you pay annually, the new payment will automatically be taken from the same payment card you used last year. If your policy is set to automatically renew and you do not want to go ahead, you need to contact us.
