Apple Pay

How do I set up Apple Pay on my device?

To add your Tesco Bank card to Apple Pay follow these simple steps:

iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Wallet app (in Settings on the iPad)
  2. Choose ‘Add Card’ next to Apple Pay at the top. If you’ve already got a card registered, tap the Plus icon and click ‘Next’
  3. Scan the front of the card, or enter the 16-digit card number manually
  4. Confirm that the card is yours by entering a One Time Passcode that you’ll be sent by text, or call us to verify your details
  5. That’s it. Apple Pay is now set up and you’re ready to shop

If you’ve got an Apple Watch:

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  2. Tap ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’
  3. Under ‘Cards on your watch’, choose ‘Add Card’
  4. Follow the steps above to scan your card and confirm your details, and you’re ready to shop

If you have a Tesco Bank credit or debit card registered with iTunes the details will be retrieved from iTunes when you first add the card, or you can choose to add a new card.

If you are adding a new Tesco Bank card, you can choose to use the camera on your iPhone or iPad to capture the details on the front of the card. Please check that the camera has captured the details exactly as they appear on your card. Alternatively, you can choose to enter your card details manually.

Ho time set pry pal

Hi,

Just joined and am having an issue with Apple Pay on my Apple Watch connecting to my tesco clubcard. My phone works fine and has done for some time linking both the credit card and clubcard. However my apple watch only seems to recognise my credit card adding money to it when I pay for something but it is not being recognised by club card. can any one help please. Thank you. J

Hi @jesta63, the apple pay service is not able to recognise two different card numbers on a single swipe (Clubcard and Credit/Debit Card), as a result you would need to scan your Clubcard separately in order for this to function. However, we do have own service Pay+ which would allow you to do this with one swipe. You can read more about this in this link. I hope this helps.

Thanks RossM, however it works on my iphone with credit card and clubcard? i don't understand wht the difference is.

I'm not 100% sure on what the difference is @jesta63, as I understand that it uses the same technology. However, I will pass on your comments as feedback to the appropriate team.

Thanks @RossM

Hi,

My apple pay was working fine  on my apple watch series 2. Today I purchased an apple watch series 4 and tried to set it up. It keeps saying

Card Not Added. Contact your card issuer for more information. Add a Card Later or Try again.  I have tried again and it is not working.

I contacted Tesco Credit Card and they say there is no token for my card. But i used it yesterday for Apple Pay. They sugested deleting the card from my wallet and try again. However I am still getting the same error. I have spent about an hour trying to research and getting this fixed.

Can anyone help me?  Noone on the helpdesk seems to know what to do.

Hi there, I'm really sorry about this. If you’ve called our team to get this fixed and tried all available options then there isn’t much more we could suggest trying. Can you try again later to see if it works?

Well actually helpdesk did not have a clue. It was me who suggested to delete the Tesco Credit Card from my Wallet and itunes and then try again. He replied - eeerr Yeh go ahead an try that.. goodbye :(

I will leave it a few days and try it again. If not then I will either contact them again or try registering another card for Apple Pay.   Could it be related to my card expiring next month, who knows ?
