The situation has gone from bad to awful. You can now only download a CSV file of recent transactions - once they move to a statement, they do not download!!!!
For example, when downloading on 25/8/2021, I only get transactions after 8/8/2021 (my most recent Statement date). That is 16 days, not the 90 days you have been able to get up to now.
Thus you need to download every day to avoid losing the ability to captue all transactions, because some have passed across to Statement data, which is only available in PDF format. -

@APWDHW I've just tried it and I still get the full last 90 days. Downloaded just now and I get transactions as far back as 26th May.

@theron Thanks for checking this.
You are right. It looks like someone has realised the problem, and quickly corrected it. I tried several times Yesterday, to no avail. Tried just now and it's back to normal.
Let's hope that someone now looks at bringing back the facility to have OFX/QIF formats! -

@APWDHW Hey, glad to hear that you can now download this. However, we didn't change anything. Can I check if you use a bookmark to access online banking? I've seen this problem happen for some users that use a bookmark.
-
26-08-21, 10:05APWDHW
@RossM Yes I do use a bookmark to access online banking. Are you saying that one day it works and the next it doesn't?
Once online the means of accessing the site should have no impact on what it chooses to include in the transactions being downloaded. -
26-08-21, 10:17RossM
The bookmark can take you to a previous version of the site. So things may behave differently than expected. I would not recommend using a bookmark for online banking. If you do need a book mark, I would use the Tescobank.com front page then clicking the login button top right will always ensure you land in the correct version.

I know Im a bit late to add to this thread but I only download for my business on quarterly basis and am really fed up to see that no longer able to use QIF file format. Used to be so easy under Manage Account WHY WHY WHY!!!!!

Hi @ChrisL44, we recently decommissioned a part of our online banking system as we improved our Credit Card journey. This resulted in OFX and QIF file formats no longer being available. We knew this would impact some users but unfortunately there was no way of avoiding this.
We are looking into reintroducing these file formats at a later date, but I’m afraid that I can’t give an exact timescale on when this will happen. We will update this thread when we have any updates. -

I would really like to know why Tesco have disabled this feature too. Where was the request for customer feedback before doing so? Why weren't we informed? It's a simple option to provide and all other banks offer it. I now have to reconcile my statements manually. Please Tesco, provide this format again, inlcuding the format for Microsoft Money.

Well, my "Credit Card journey" with Tesco has ended because of these changes. I find it hard to credit that there was no way of avoiding the removal of these file formats. When will Tesco Bank stop referring to "improvements" in their "Credit Card journey" when it is quite clear from this forum and no doubt for lots of other customers too that this has been anything but an improvement? -

Hi.
Its been several months now and wondered if there was an update as to when this will be corrected and we can download in this format again?
Thanks. -

I'm really sorry @mikeab28, we don't have an update on this at the moment. We'll post on the Community as soon as we do.

I was recently the recipient of an email from Tesco Bank which said, inter alia, "We'd love to hear what you think about Tesco Bank. Your feedback will really help us understand how we're doing and, importantly, where we can make improvements for our customers." Well, I have completed this survey which is being carried out by KPMG Nunwood. I was at pains to point out the deficiencies in the "Credit Card Journey" now. The customers on this forum have already told Tesco Bank the answers to this question as far as credit cards go and nothing has happened, so, rather than spend the money on this survey, it would have been better spent on reinstating the missing functions we have all been complaining about.
If anyone else has received such an email inviting them to complete the survey, why not do so? Who knows - Tesco Bank, or at least their consultants, might pay more attention to those comments.
I am so frustrated by this whole business, including Tesco Bank's pretence to want to improve customer service, yet their inability to do so when the defects are pointed out. -

Yes, I've been doing it for years too. Until the 'upgrade' it was definitely possible to download statements older than 90 days in csv format.
I've joined this thread as I didn't notice it when I started a thread to complain about the lack of per statement downloads in csv format.
When that functionality was lost I was annoyed, couldn't find an easy way to complain, but worked round it manually.
However, this month I nearly screwed my accounts and would have gone overdrawn because I made an error in my manual reconciliation of the statement with the csv file, and missed transaction of several hundred pounds. So my direct debit was due to pay off much more than I expected. Luckily I noticed in time and was able to ensure that adequate funds went into my current account to cover the DD. -

Well I take it they are happy on their CC journey, I used to do 90% of my transactions on my Tesco CC but have run it down over the last few months and will change over to another provider next month Maybe they are just running the CC side as they have with the current account, anyway othersdo .qif and I will move over to someone who does

Also frustrated by Tesco.
If you can manage with the restriction of 90 days I use some software 'iCreateOFX Basic' to convert Tesco CC .csv to .ofx, in order to import into MS Money. It also exports to .qif but I have not used that. You can easily view and remove any transactions (eg ones you have already imported) before creating the file.
It is paid-for software, but fairly inexpensive (a tenner). I have no connection other than using it for Tesco and Halifax CC .csv files. The Tesco .csv has a few more fields than some other banks' exports, otherwise I would probably end my 'journey' now as I no longer have any other Tesco accounts.
Hilariously, as I type this an email has arrived inviting me to participate in the Tesco Bank feedback survey! -

No survey for me.
Well its October now so I think we can safely say the 'Credit Card Journey' will not be making a u-turn.
I've switched most of my spending to another card. I'll close the account by Christmas if nothing changes.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that Following on from listening to your feedback, You are now able to download transactions in QIF and other formats. You can also download all of your transactions for the last 90 days (excluding pending transactions) or you are able to download your transactions for a particular month. Hopefully this helps those who use these formats.

@RossM, Great news, thank you. I can confirm that QIF worked for importing my credit card transactions into Microsoft Money. I can't see an option for OFX downloads though, just CSV, TSV & QIF?
-
10-11-21, 12:17theron
That's great news @RossM
I too can only see a .QIF download option.
Thanks ! -
12-11-21, 10:07wmcdonaldd
I have tried this option and whilst it has successfully downloaded my completed statements when I try to download "Transactions since your last statement" it comes back with the error message "Unable to find page"-this was the same on all download formats! When I got through to the Help desk as requested I was advised that this option was in the process of being removed, has anyone else experienced this?

I am getting a problem with all the downloads. It is no longer downloading all the non-pending transactions that have been listed and included in the balance figure on the statement. The result is that it is no longer possible to check the total of the transactions downloaded against the current balance as the last few are missing -

Hi
I am a newbie trying to sort out a problem...
I see that QIF was reinstated on Monday 8th November within online banking.
From that same day the transactions .csv file has not been updating?
The normal view shows some 10 subsequent transactions, but they are in a strange format, with text where dates and amounts should be, and strange spacing.
The .csv files used to work fine, but now nothing new since the 8th
Am I the only person with this problem?
Any ideas?
Thanks -

@RossM
Thank you. That is good news. I have now been able to download the few transactions in my statement to Microsoft Money using the QIF format. -

@RossM
Hi Ross, Thanks for the reply.
I am using Google Chrome (as I have for years), and it downloads to "Downloads" in Windows Explorer, and puts an icon just above the taskbar. I double click the icon and it loads a new sheet in Excel. The sheet is still downloading to Downloads, and still opens, but it has not updated since 8th November. It still has all the transactions before the 8th.
I have only just joined the community, and although i thought I had tken the option to get an email when anyone replied, it doesn't seem to work, so sorry for the delay in responding...
Cheers

@RossM well I went to download transactions today and saw the qif option was back so used that. It still isn't quite as it was because before it used to download the current period's transactions and now it is 90 days of transactions which results in too many duplicates to match and resolve in my accounting software. The solution I ended up with using the CSV file is better now in this respect because I can define which transactions to import.
HOWEVER - downloading both QIF and CSV formats today on the 16 November I find that both have excluded all transactions since 6 November, pending or otherwise. That needs to be fixed. -
16-11-21, 14:30RossM
Hey, we are looking into the missing transactions on CSV files, I'm going to send a PM to a few of you above to try and get some more information to assist us with this.
-
18-11-21, 09:04Uptonm01
I have the same problem. Neither the recently introduced .QIF or the .csv downloads are giving transactions after the 6 of November. Its a bit frustrating after waiting quite a while for qif to be reinstated. Other banks don't seem to have a problem with this - come on Tesco.
-

Hi @Uptonm01, sorry about this. We are looking into this issue just now and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Hey all, thanks for making us aware of this. We successfully deployed a fix at the weekend and transactions should now be displaying as normal. If anyone’s transactions are not displaying correctly can you please send me a private message to investigate?

14-01-22, 11:15BrynClarkeSTILL cannot align download with statement!
Congratulations to Tesco for reinstating QIF download! However, this was the smaller of the two problems introduced by the platform change - and one which was easy to work around thanks to the enormously helpful conversion utility provided by a member of this forum. The bigger problem is that you can STILL not download the set of transactions corresponding to a monthly statement! You have to f*rt around using Notepad to manually find and strip out all transactions before and after the statement you are reconciling. What a pain in the a**e!!! Come on Tesco get your act together - what do you think the point is of downloading transactions? How are we supposed to avoid duplicates?????
-
10-04-22, 16:13Ronski
Well it seems your colleague was correct, just logged in to download my statements, not that I use the account much these days, and the option to download a QIF file is back.
So I thought I'd come here and say thank you for reinstating this, all we need now is to be able select the period, rather than the last 90 days worth. Importing 90 days worth of transactions into MS Money means going through and tidying them up every time, or editing the QIF file prior to importing.
If it wasn't for the 90 days worth of transactions I'd switch my spending back to the Tesco card.
Perhaps someone could feed this back to the web team - need the option to select the period to download please.
Thanks. -

This is appalling. You have taken away a facility used by many, as part of a planned update, but you did not tell anyone that you were going to do this. People are complaining, but you hid this reply from them. You really are useless conniving sh*ts. Time to switch credit card suppliers.
