Reducing Overdraft

I opened a current account recently, and accepted the overdraft. Now, I decided to reduce it a little bit, purely because having it at a round-£1000 amount makes it easier to work out in my head what the difference is between cleared and available balance, to work out the value of pending transactions. Tried to reduce it online, and it said "Tesco Bank is unable to consider your revised amount at this time"! So, two questions... 1) Am I being credit-checked for an overdraft reduction?2) Is there some rule saying that overdrafts can't be changed for a certain time after being applied for?

    Hi thanks for your message.
You would not have another credit check for reducing your overdraft, however if you wanted to increase the overdraft again a new credit check may have to be completed. The online system is not able to reduce the overdraft for a period when you first get the card, If you could give us a call on 0345 835 3353, we can discuss this and see if this is possible?
