Paying in euros

I am trying to find the most economical way of paying for something in euros. How do I pay by card? I have the bank details and need to set up and pay this way. People are suggesting other foreign CC but was hoping I could pay by Tesco CC.

If using a sterling CC to pay a bill in €, always get the bill in €. That way the VISA/MC default inter-bank exchange rate will be applied plus a FX Fee. If the vendor / vendor's bank does the conversion then they can choose the exchange rate which will be, I expect, in their favour.

Pre-payment cards are available which are the 21st C equivalent to travellers cheques and often offer a better exchange rate (if they didn't why would anyone use them).

A alternative way would be bank transfer using SEPA, banks offered this when the UK was part of the EU and most still do.
