How do I change my car on Your Insurance Account?

This should only take a few minutes via Your Insurance Account. If completed online your premium may change but you won't have to pay the £25 administration fee.

  • Once you log in, select the policy you want to make the change on and then click 'Make Changes'
  • Click 'Change car' from the drop down menu
  • Select the date you want your change to take effect from, read the statements carefully and if accepted, click 'Confirm'
  • Please enter your new registration and click 'Find my car'
  • If the vehicle details are correct please click 'Continue'. If the details are not correct, please select 'This is not my car' and manually enter the correct details. Once complete, select 'Continue'
  • You will then be presented with the cost to make the change and the option of adding any optional extras to your policy whilst making the change
  • If you're happy and want to go ahead, click 'Go to checkout'. If you do not want to go ahead, click 'Back to your account'

I've been trying to make an amendment as my middle name is missing from the policy but there is no "make changes" option.  I also haven't been able to get through to anyone on the phone.  I appreciate that it is a very busy time but there is only so long I can stay on hold.

Hi @ELS, sorry to hear this. You will need to call us to add this to the policy as it can't be done online. Lines are extremely busy at the moment due to the ongoing situation, so wait times are longer than normal. Sorry about that. You can reach the Car Insurance team on 0345 246 2895 (Mon - Fri: 9am - 6pm, Sat: 9am - 2pm) and they'll be happy to help. 

I cannot get into my car insurance account, to cancel my insurance, I've gotten a better deal.

I’ve attached a link below, please scroll down to ‘Help for Insurance Customers’ and you’ll find all of the information there. However, if you need to make any changes for the remainder of the policy, please contact our Insurance team on 0345 246 2895 (Mon - Fri: 9am - 6pm, Sat: 9am - 2pm).

I can’t find my policy number to create my online account to change my car details, is there anyway I can find it tonight?  I have no old emails or letters as I’m paperless, I thought I had up till 9pm to call and didn’t realise they shut early at the mo 😞
