Comments

I appreciate this must be frustrating. I will log your comments regarding the cancellation as feedback and send it to the Development Team. Once we have verified the proof of sale documents we will be in touch to let you know - Chris

Disgraceful! You upped my premium by over £33.00, which is excessive considering I have not had a claim, then charge £40.00 to cancel. New customers are offered a much cheaper rates. Premium increase about 12%, but 14% to cancel. It’s tantamount to blackmail. Add to this the extreme difficulty of using the website (I have successfully logged on twice in some 12 attempts because I cannot stop the auto fill in the bank section) and the ridiculous hanging on the phone, makes dealing with Tesco a very unpleasant experience. I will not use you again, and even shopping at Tesco will be tainted by this experience in the future.

Reminder of outstanding balance, please contact us urgently - so received this just now by email, I rang up, told I owe more money even though I have sent my proof of destruction to you as requested and my case was being handed over to a different team to look at the fact that the car was scrapped early May but I have still had to pay my premium for June!  I paid the June premium over the phone, to be told that there will be another o/s amount of around £15 but that she would pass my case on to a different team.

Agent today says I owe £27 but no idea why.  The car was scrapped on 7th May. I understand now that I did not follow procedure (well, your procedure), but my has this been time consuming and painful..!!

NOW that said, Tesco did then write off the outstanding £27 so cannot argue with that, however the ease of resolution was difficult, but in the end we got there. Thanks you.

Hi @haywardbob, I'm sorry to hear about this. Can you please send us over a private message to @Tesco-Bank including your full name, DOB, postcode and policy reference number? I'll then be able to look into this further for you - Kelly

Hi all,

Quick queary, 29th March 2019 I had my vehicle scrapped/donated after a breakdown (expensive to repair) to Surrey fire and rescue so the boys and girls can do required training. Due to personal circumstances I didn't cancel my policy until begining June 2019 thus overpaying 2 months premium (April/May) and was told on cancellation that evidence of the scrapping was required, so as I had still got the yellow scrap slip from my V5c logbook I emailed this over to Tesco. Apparently after an email and phone call this wasn't enough so I sent a copy of the DVLA reciept that stated I was no longer the keeper of the vehicle, this also it seems was not enough and that Tesco requires the certification of destruction from the scrapyard. So after a long and fruitless conversation to Tesco insurance on this Friday gone 28 June 2019 I called the emergency service vehicle scrapyard that took my vehicle and alarm bells started to ring at his end, he stated that this was absolute rubbish and that the yellow slip was proof that, wait for it..... I HAD NO ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE AFTER 29 March 2019, I stated that I was due a refund for 2 months cover paid after the vehicle was scrapped, the scrappy stated it maybe that Tesco is trying to find a way of avoiding payment. Anyways this morning I receive another Tesco email stating they had written to me and that I had not responded and to contact them urgently about my policy..... WHAT? I CALLED 3 DAYS AGO!

Please repond as;

 1. When I get a new motor, Tesco WILL NOT be a choice

 2. May have to cancel Tesco mobile.

 3. Stop using Tesco Online for my shopping.

CURRENTLY A DISGRUNTLED END OF MY TETHER CUSTOMER!

Hi @Grenadier95, I'm really sorry to hear this. So I can look into this for you, can you please send your full name, DOB and postcode in a private message to @Tesco-Bank

£900 extra for changing to a smaller car. What's this all about. I can't afford to pay over £320 a month. Rip off

Hi @Nothing, sorry to hear about this. Can you please send over a private message to Tesco-Bank including your full name, DOB, postcode and policy number? I’ll then be able to look into this for you - Kelly

It is now 10 and I have been trying for an hour to use this online service to say that I want to cancel mypolicy for home insurance.

It will not accept my username, or policy number. I hope there will not be charged since it says that if you cancel within the first 14 days I will not be charged. It is due today 13th of August.

waiting for counselling is the day just gone up from £232 35 to £314 17 which I think is outrageous.

Hi @anitastacey56, I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty online and are looking to cancel your policy. If you could please call our Home Insurance team on 0345 246 2904 (Mon - Fri: 8am - 9pm, Sat - Sun: 9am - 5pm) as the policy would've now renewed, they can arrange for this to be cancelled within the cooling off period. I hope this helps!
