How long does it take to settle a claim?

Repeat medication claims and claims for ongoing conditions can be made online, and this is the fastest way to get a claim paid. For new claims, esnuring that all the requested information is included will help speed up settlement of your claim, as will selecting payment by bank transfer.


My vet emailed in my claim form on 7th May.  They had a delivery receipt on that day and a read receipt on 11th May. But I've heard nothing. I've been online to check my claim and there is no record of it. It's over £1000 and my credit card needs paying.  I've rung and rung but no one answers the phones.  A shabby service and I won't insure with Tesco again.

Hi @Cjackman, I'm really sorry to hear this. We don't have access to Pet Insurance policies here, I'm afraid, so you will need to contact them directly for clarification on this. You can email them at, or you can call them again on 0345 078 3895 (Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm, Sat: 9am - 5pm, Sun: 10am - 5pm). Whilst I appreciate the wait times are hugely frustrating, my colleagues are working as fast as they can to get through every query as quickly as possible.
