How long does it take to settle a claim?

Repeat medication claims and claims for ongoing conditions can be made online, and this is the fastest way to get a claim paid. For new claims, esnuring that all the requested information is included will help speed up settlement of your claim, as will selecting payment by bank transfer.

i dont agree with this atall ,? my claim went in two months ago, and it is still unresolved, only last week tesco wrote to me asking for information on what happened to cause the injury, this information should have been requested in the first week of the claim, i dont understand why it is taking so long its a very simple new injury claim,

but it is really dragging out now and the vets are waiting to be paid, im not impressed Tesco sort this soon please

Hi Neil, I'm sorry to hear that your claim hasn't been resolved as quick as you hoped. It is always within the company’s interest to investigate and resolve claims as quickly as possible. Have you spoken to our claims team to get a present position on your claim? If not you can reach them on 0345 078 3860. Our claims lines are open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, and Saturday 9am-5pm.

I agree with Neil76. My simple and modest claim was submitted in January and we've heard nothing since. Shabby service.

HI @georgemagson, I'm sorry to hear that. Please call the number i've stated on the message above so we can discuss your claim in further detail.

I have been waiting over a month for my claim to be settled not happy with why it takes so long. My premiums payed on time each month so why cant tescos give the same service to pay out legitament claims.Had to pay out over £500  pluss but still no settlement. As a pensioner I cant afford to pay out such sums this  is why I have insurance. Take out insurance to safe gaurd are pets who are family members.Very dissapointed with tescos expected better service.

Hi @Shushan, I'm sorry that you've not yet received an update on your claim yet. We can't provide a timescale for when a claim would be resolved as this is completely different for each claim depending on the information required and the circumstances. Our Claims team do aim to settle these as quickly as they can, and you can find more info on our Pet Insurance claims process here.

I totally disagree, I made a claim 22 May and heard nothing. I rang claims to be told I would have to wait. Today, 30 June I rang claims, to be told my claim had been refused. Unfortunately no-one had bothered tocommunicate this to me ! I have prompty cancelled my pet insurance and shall save my premiums up towartds any further treatment. This pet insurance is not worth the paper it is printed on. I have not had pet cover before, and will certainly not have it again in the future.

my dog Oscar has recently been ill and my existing standard cover will be sufficient to cover his vet fees but sadly he had to be put to sleep

.according to my standard policy I am covered up to £1500 if my dog dies from an illness. My question is will this be treated as separate claim as I've used my standard cover amount for the vet fees.

Hi @GRAHAMBAIRD510, I'm sorry to hear that. Our Pet Insurance product is handled by a third party Insurance Underwriter and as a result I don’t have access to view policies via this channel. Please give our team a call on 0345 078 3895 so we can take some information and answer your query, Lines are open Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm, Sat: 9am - 5pm and Sun: 10am - 4pm.

"aim to settle a claim promptly" yet 2 months later I've received a second letter saying they need more information from the vets after assuring me they had received all the information (which took 4 phone calls) after the first letter. All this for an operation to have a small lump removed with no follow up treatment so a pretty straight forward claim!
