Pet Insurance

How do I know if I am covered by my pet insurance?

Tesco Pet Insurance claims consultants are fully trained and have an excellent knowledge of the cover you have arranged. Wherever possible, they’ll confirm during your first call whether your claim is covered. For claims involving illness or disease they’ll probably need more detailed information from your vet before assessing your claim.

It may help you to read through your policy documents before ringing us to report your claim.

If you have any queries, please visit our claims page on our website or call us on 0345 078 3860*.

Calls may be recorded. *This number may be included as part of any inclusive call minutes provided by your phone operator.

Sorry i dont know how to start a new topic.

Im looking at different pet insurance and was wondering if tesco cover allergy testing for dogs?

Thanks

Hi @Jessicamj, Tesco policies, other than accident and injury, cover allergy testing for pets. However the condition must meet the policy terms and conditions, for example we don’t pay if you or your vet notice a change in your pet’s health before the policy cover starts or within the first 14 days of the policy. We won’t pay claims for these changes or any illness that develops from them. I hope that helps, but please come back to us if you have any other questions!

Hey I got just got pet insurance but put in the wrong email what do I do?

Hi @Nadine11, I'm sorry to hear we have the wrong email for you. You'll need to give us a ring so we can fix this for you on 0345 078 3895 (open: Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm, Sat: 9am - 5pm, Sun: 10am - 5pm) - Tristan

My Labrador is 4 and has, been covered by Tesco insurance since 8 weeks old. He has been diagnosed with allergies and looks like he will be on medication monthly ....so will he be covered for the monthly costs of those tablets

Hi @Colin01, thanks for getting in touch. If you call the number Tristan mentioned above, our team will be able to tell you if the medication is covered on your policy. When you call, have your policy number to hand and everything will be sorted in just a few minutes :-)

I have a 3 year old French bulldog who developed breathing problems about a year ago,  she had her first consultation with our vet in May 17, they think she may have BOAS but cannot confirm unless they perform the op, she was overweight at the time of her consultation, we have had her on a diet and is now a suitable weight for her procedure which will hopefully be carried out the end of March.

Does Tesco Pet Insurance cover this type of procedure (£2500 +) and what are the exclusions if any? We have a standard cover policy and it is due for renewal in April 18.

Many thanks

@Bellaboo5 - sorry for the delay in our response. Please give our Pet team a call on 0345 078 3878 (Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 10am-5pm). One of our experts will be able to help you further.

My Pet Insurance is up for renewal soon but I have a question before continuing my policy. In the T&Cs it mentions that my dog must have a list of vaccinations. I have got her vaccinated against all listed however I do not vaccinate yearly and have my vet carry out a Titre Test every six months to check out what she needs. The only thing she gets heart is her lepto and kennel cough vaccines. She has high levels of immunity from her first set of vaccinations so pointless giving her vaccinations she does not need. Is my policy void if I do not get her vaccinated yearly and is Titre testing accepted by Tesco Insurance as proof she is vaccinated?

Hi @Prl1981, thanks for getting in touch. We'd need to speak with you on the phone to discuss your policy, so it would be best to call us on 0345 078 3895 (Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm Sat: 9am - 5pm Sun: 10am - 5pm) and my colleagues will help you further :) - Caroline
