Why has my account been locked?

We may lock your PayQwiq account if we suspect that any payments on your account may be fraudulent. If we have locked your account please call us on 0330 123 0304 (Monday to Friday from 8am-8pm, Saturday from 9am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm).


To keep your account safe, we will ask you a few security questions when you call us. Once we've verified your identity, we will get your account back up and running.

Hi my account has been locked due to fraud. I spoke to the fraud team this morning and it's being dealt with but how long will my account get locked.

I'm sorry to hear you've had fraud on your account. You would be best placed speaking to the fraud team again as their timescales can vary depending on the extent of the fraud. When you get a moment please give them a call.




I am locked out my online account and forgot my secutiy pin.

Is this for your PayQwiq account? If so please call the number at the top of this thread in order to get this unlocked. 


If it's your Tesco Bank online access that's locked then please send us a private message to our @CET account so that we can investigate this further for you. If you click on the username @CET and then in the box near top right where you see the "Contact me" option and click "Send this user a private message".


In the message please explain your situation and include your name, date of birth, postcode and, if you have it, mobile number.


For details like your DOB, postcode and phone number, we ask for you to format it with additional spaces, i.e. A B 1 2 C D, 2 4 1 0 2 0 1 6 and 0 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 otherwise the information is removed by the system for security purposes.

Annoyingly I am locked out of account. Why? I delted cookies thats all!


Hi @SarahBudd, as part of our online security process, we store a small token in the cookies of your device which allow it to be recognised by our system. When you delete the cookies, this causes the device to become unrecognised.
