How do I log in to my account online?

On select 'LOGIN' displayed in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Enter your Username on the login page and select 'Next'.

On the next page enter the two digits requested from your security number and your password.

If you're using a device that we don't recognise, we'll send you a One Time Access Code by text or automated call. This code is valid for 10 minutes. You can request a new One Time Access Code up to 3 times within 20 minutes.

You'll be asked to enter the One Time Access Code during login. Once you've entered the One Time Access Code and confirmed your password, you'll be asked if you want us to recognise your computer.

Please note - If you ask us to recognise your computer we'll store a small security token on your computer or mobile device to do this, but it doesn't store private or personal information about you or your accounts.

Hi @carnarvon24, if you send a private message to @Tesco-Bank with your full name, DOB, postcode and details of the statement you require we can arrange for this to be sent by post for you. 

Since the introduction of One Time Access Code, Tesco Bank has NEVER remembered my PC for Login.


What makes it worse is that every time the website is loaded the Privacy Policy pop-up appears.....

... and clicking on "Privacy Policy", iit seems pretty clear that customers cannot "manage"the vast majority of Cookies .... only Marketing Cookies.

So why is my PC no longer being remembered ?


To make it worse ....

The field for entering the OTAC disguises the numbers entered - which makes pointless the repetition of the OTAC by the auto-voice.

i.e any mis-type cannot be checked.

Hi @Tarian, I'm sorry to hear about this. We have used one-time access codes for about 8 years, is it only recently that you've been having problems with this? When you choose to 'recognise this device', we will place a cookie so that we recognise you in the future. However, if you clear your browsing history this will also clear your cookies and therefore we will no longer recognise the device. I have raised feedback regarding this for you, I hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt reply.


Failure to recognise this (old) PC only occurred in the last few months.

Sometime between the new design (with the pointless photo of people in a field) and what appeared to be inauguration of additional checks.


At each login I have clicked the "recognise this device" ..... to no avail.


I do not manually clear Browsing History - but I have Spybot which occasionally reports a few thousand temporary files for clearing.

A) This occurs less often than I login to Tesco bank

B) I ALWAYS exclude browsing cookies from the Clean-up.


Given that the Privacy Policy makes it very hard to manage most Cookies, it seems surprising that the "recognise device" cookies isn't amongst the "strictly necessary" or "always on"  ones !!
