Online Banking

How do I ask you to recognise my device?

When you log in to Online Banking on a computer or mobile device we don't recognise, we'll send you a One Time Access Code by text or an automated call.  This code is valid for 10 minutes. You can choose an option to resend a new One Time Access Code up to 3 times within 20 minutes.

You'll be asked to enter the One Time Access Code during login. Once you've entered the One Time Access Code and confirmed your Password, you'll be asked if you want us to recognise your computer.

If you ask us to recognise your computer we'll store a small security token on your computer or mobile device, which lets us recognise it. We don't store any private or personal information about you or your accounts.

If we don't have your up to date mobile or landline number we can't send you a One Time Access Code. Instead, we'll send you a Temporary Security Number by post which is valid for 30 days.

Due to a change made by Apple to their iOS 11 & macOS 10.13 operating systems in September 2017, we will now ask you if we can ‘recognise your computer’ again if you haven’t logged in to Online Banking for 30 days or more. There is no impact to the Tesco Bank mobile application.

Hi @dermylfc

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems logging into your new device. If the password has become locked, you would need to call us to have the password reset.

Call our online department on 0345 300 3511, available 24/7, and my colleagues can help you get back into the account.

Tesco wants to send me a one time access code but unfortunately, you do not have my up to date mobile phone number.

How do I apply for one by post bearing in mind I can't get online or access my accounts.

Thanks, Jules.

I am afraid you have to resort to the old fashioned way and telephone.

Hi @Jules1, You will need to contact us to get a code sent by post, or we can go through security, update your mobile and send it by text. You can find our contact details here: http://www.tescobank.com/help/contact-us/ - Tristan

Hi @Goncalves, I can't see any query with your post. Is there anything I can help you with?
