Mobile Banking App

Android Compatible Devices

We're aware of an issue where some people get a "Device not compatible" error message in the Google Play Store when trying to download our Mobile App, even though we should support the phone. This is an error that has appeared on a number of other apps in the Google Play Store including apps such as Instagram and Clash of Clans.

If you are sure that your current Android device isn’t running on an older version of Android and your device’s hardware is supported by the application then it may be due to some bugs in your Android device or the Google Play Store application.

As a workaround, we suggest trying one or both of the methods below:

Method 1

* Clear the Google Play Store from running in the background of your Android device.
* Launch the Settings app on your Android device.
* Click on the “Application Manager” option.
* Then find the “Google Play Services” listing and click on the same.
* Click on the “Clear Cache” button.

Method 2

* Go to the Settings app on your device.
* Click on “Application Manager”.
* Find “Google Play Store” and click on the same.
* Click on the “Uninstall Updates” button.
* Click on the “OK” button.

This will remove all the recent updates to Google Play Store, which may be causing the error.

This should erase everything, and get rid of any corrupt files that seem to be causing this problem. If you have tried these methods and have been successful or if you are still experiencing issues please let us know in the comments below.

I'm using the Samsung note 9

Thanks for confirming this @Delboy52. At the moment the Samsung Note 9 isn't currently supported with our Mobile App. Our App Team is currently aware of this issue, although we don't have a timescale for a resolution at the moment.

Hi

I managed to install the app on my Galaxy Note 9 by downloading the .apk file and installing it manually.

MOD EDIT: Removed link as this is on a third party website and as a result we can't confirm that this is secure.

Download the app

Click install

It will prompt you with a security message - accept.

App then installed and works with no issues on my device!

Hope that helps

Greg

Still not working on my Note 9. This is the premier Android phone on the market at the moment. This ought to be a priority for you to fix.

You are losing customers because of this; I know several people who are actively moving their credit card to another provider.

Well well, I searched for the apk, installed it and everything worked.

So come on Tesco, why does it work but you say it doesn't? Can't be bothered to update the compatibility list?

Just got a Huawei Mate20 Pro and the app is not compatible.  Tried the workaround as suggested but no joy. Any other way to download it ?

Stevensig

JG1, I just searched for tesco bank apk and downloaded. It works fine on my Note 9.

Hi Steve sing, it still doesn't like the Huawei, it worked fine on my old S7 edge.  Barclays works no problem.
Stevensig

Yep mate. All my other banking apps work fine. I have Barclays, Barclaycard, Halifax and Santander. All worked as soon as I got the phone. It seems Tesco don't give a s***.

Oop.auto correct did a number on your name.  It does appear Tesco It are struggling with newer technology. Shame.  New 0% card search underway.
