Can I appeal the loan decision?

Yes. If you do not agree with the decision that we have made on your application you have the right to appeal. You should support your appeal by providing any additional relevant information that was not taken into account at the time of our original decision, such as;

  • details of any missed income that may impact whether you can afford the loan
  • change in your credit score or incorrect information being removed from your credit file

Send your appeal to: Tesco Bank, Loans Decision Review Team, Broadway 1, 199 Renfield St, Glasgow, G2 9FE. Please note it can take 5 - 7 days to review once your documents are received.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this! We don't have an email address for appeals, it must be in writing. The address would have been on the decision letter we sent to you. If you don't have this anymore then please direct your appeal to the below address.

Hi just wondered how long a loan appeal takes ??


Hi @nicky118, loan appeals are dealt with on a case by cases basis so we don't have a specific time frame on when we will make a decision. However, we will always contact you by phone call or letter to let you know the outcome as soon as we possibly can.

Hi i have no idea how my loan appeal is progressing...any idea when i'll know either way please ????

Hi! I have just applied for a loan but I am afraid my application may be rejected so I would like to cancel it and apply again but this time for a smaller amount of money so that I am almost sure I will get it (better less than nothing 🙂 ) How can I do that? Thanks.

If you'd like to cancel your loan application, we would need to speak with you on the phone. If you give our Loans team a call on 0345 307 3425 (Mon-Fri 8am-10pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm), one of our advisors will be able to do this for you 🙂 

Me and my husband applied for a joint loan and got accepted but had to send some stuff off along with a reference from my boss, tesco then tried ringing my boss and she thought they was on about a job regence so said no when they asked if she knew! After putting the phone down she realised what they had ment but by then we had already declined us, we have sent a letter to the appeals team but was just woundering how likely are they to understand this mess up and how long does it take for them to get back to us. Thankyou

Hi @Megan17, I'm really sorry that this has happened. We usually take 2-3 business days to process your appeal and then we would send you a letter confirming the result of your appeal. This would arrive within 3-5 business days and would outline the next steps that we would take going forward in regards to your loan. If you've not heard back in these timescales then call our customer services team on 0345 307 3425 (Mon-Fri 8am-10pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm) and one of out advisors will be able to help 🙂
