A bit annoyed that when I called today to open a new internet saver by closing the old account and transferring the old account balance I was told that I had to do it all online and now this faq tells me I have to call!,,,,
Hi @Dasher, I’m sorry to hear this. Unfortunately there is no option to close your account online at the moment. However, the person you spoke with may have referred you online to open the new account prior to closing the existing one as this would mean that you would have the same log in details as you do at the moment. Once you have completed the application and the account has been opened, you would need to give us a call so we can get your old account closed.

Yes, I know that. A previous answer included the words "at the moment", as does yours, giving the impression it was a service improvement being worked on. Otherwise, why use them. It can't be that hard to make this option available, especially as no doubt thousands close accounts and open new accounts for a better interest rate.
Your comments have been passed on as feedback @Jim59. I used the phrase 'at the moment' as it's not something currently available, however may be something we look at in the future. I cannot guarantee this will definitely be added, nor can I say for sure that it will never happen.
I have just phoned to ask about opening a new Internet Saver , transferring the money from my existing account and closing that account. Was told I could do all that online so I did. Until it came to closing the first account and I find I can't do that online , as I was informed. Come on Tesco, please get this sorted and make life simpler for your customers
