Cheque Clearance

    I paid in a cheque last Thursday evening and it still has not cleared. I realise that the first day would not have started until Friday but even accounting for that, it has now been 5 days and no clearance. The cheque was issued by Tesco themselves so I fail to see why there is a delay. In addition, I have card payments that have left the account and as the cheque still hasn't cleared, i'm going to be charged. Can anyone assist with this? Thanks

    Hi @cursumperfico, I'm sorry to hear that the cheque hasn't cleared yet. The rule we follow with cheques is that it should appear on the account within two working days, become available for withdrawal in four working days and fully clear six working days from deposit.

    If the cheque hasn't cleared yet, we'd advise calling our team to discuss why the cheque is still being processed. Let us know what kind of account you hold with us and we can give you the number to call.
