How do I activate my Tesco Bank Credit Card?

If you are the primary card holder you can activate your card via the Mobile Banking App, or by calling us on 0345 072 9072* (Minicom 0345 671 0676*). If there are additional card holders on the account then this will also activate their cards.

 

You will be asked to enter your 16 digit credit card number so please have this with you when you call. If you’ve registered for Online Banking you will also need to enter selected digits from your Security Number.

 

*This number may be included as part of any inclusive call minutes provided by your phone operator.

I am trying to unlocked my pin which has been blocked,i have called customer services gone through the menus and it tells me to finish procdure at an atm. I have tried this to no avail. It just tells me to contact provider. Tried CS againhow do i speak to a human being ! Ii am so frustrated with it.

Hi @caf1766, I'm sorry to hear that you've had issues unblocking your pin. So I can look into this further, please send a private message to @CET.

In the message explaining your situation, include your name, date of birth and postcode.

 

For details like your DOB, postcode and phone number, we ask for you to format it with additional spaces, i.e. A B 1 2 C D, 2 4 1 0 2 0 1 6 and 0 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 otherwise the information is removed by the system.

 

Alternatively, call us on 0345 300 4278, available 24/7, and select option 2, enter your card details and wait until the option is given for you to speak to an advisor. That option becomes available after you listen to the options twice.

I have received my credit card with no activation sticker!! The app isn't showing me an option to activate my card and i'm in Thailand right now and can't phone anyone!! Please help!

Soon, I'll receive my PIN and Credit Card; If I don't want to activate the credit card inmediately, what's the maximum time that I can wait for activating it, a mean, If I receive the card today, Could I activate it two month in forward?.

There isn't a limit on how long you can wait to activate your credit card. However, if there is an interest free offer on the account then this starts when the account is opened, not when you decide to activate the card. 

 

For example if you had a 12 month offer and opened the account today (03/06/17), the offer would still expire on 03/06/18 regardless of whether you activated the card today or in 2/3 months time. I hope this helps!

You refer to using the mobile app .....i don't have the app and don't have adquate phone memory to download it .... 

 

I am registered for online credit card facility and on logging in, I can see my new (2nd) credit card is showing on my account however there is no option for me to 'activate' it online?  Seems odd that you can activate via an App and not via your existing online registered account.

If you're unable to use the app, @rumac19, I would advise giving us a call on the number above to activate this.

I will pass on your comments regarding this as feedback so they can be reviewed going forward.

I've activated my new Tesco card . I asked for a balance transfer to be put on it , but it's not happened yet ? I thought it was done within 3 days of activation ?
