I have a credit balance on my credit card, how do I get it back?

If you have a credit balance following a refund and would like these funds returned to you, you can arrange this yourself via Online Banking or the Mobile Banking App.

If using Online Banking, please select your credit card from ‘My Overview’ and you will see the money transfer link, choose this option and follow the instructions.

If using our Mobile App, choose ‘Account Management’, select the money transfer option and follow the instructions.

When this type of refund is processed, you will receive your money within 2 business days. You may incur a money transfer fee. Rest assured that this will automatically be refunded to you within 10 working days and there is no need to contact us.

If you chose to transfer more than your credit balance, normal fees and charges will apply.

I received a refund from a cancelled holiday and transferred the amount from the credit card to my bank account, which automatically charged me a £26.56 money transfer fee.  After a few days I received a money transfer fee refund of £24.82, can you please advise why the amount was different? Are you charging me £1.74 for getting my own money??

Hi @gallo2000, did you transfer the exact amount you were in credit?

I had some debit on my account therefore I transferred the credit amount only. But why should that make any difference as the charge was a percentage of the transfer and should be refunded accordingly?

If you transferred anymore than the credit balance, you will be borrowing some money and there may be a charge for that. I can check to see if this is the case for you. Please send a DM with your full name, DOB and postcode to @Tesco-Bank
