Calling all customers – do you want to make things ‘Beta’?

Last year in Your Community, we launched a Beta Testing Group – offering customers an opportunity to get involved in testing our new look Online Banking before it was available to all Tesco Bank customers, and then provide feedback. By doing this we were able to tailor the development, ensuring it not only met our customers’ needs, but was easy to use.

Last year’s beta group was the first time that we'd carried out this type of activity and we were delighted to see how willing customers were to get involved and help shape our services.

Building on this success we have decided to relaunch, enabling more customers to get involved. This year, we plan to expand the scope of the beta group, meaning that more and more functionality for Online Banking and the App will be tested in this way, including potentially an entire App re-design, digital PIN number reminders and the ability to update your personal details in-App. By doing this, we hope to gather even more insight which will help us continually develop and refine our products and services, ensuring that they not only deliver great value, but also exceptional service.

We believe that you, our customers, offer a great wealth of knowledge and understanding through your own experiences of using our services. This is why we established the Your Community site, providing a platform for all Tesco Bank customers to find out information, as well as sharing their thoughts, views and expertise. Today, thousands of Tesco Bank customers are registered on Your Community and we see on average over 250,000 visits to helpful content each month.

If you are interested in getting involved please comment below this article to say that you are! You will need to register to comment. We'll then reach out to you by private message to get some details and set you up with a beta version of Online Banking and/or the Mobile App depending on what you use now.

I am interested in being a tester. I have already posted some ideas on things to implement on to the website and mobile banking app today via another post. It would be great to be involved in shaping the every day things we use.

 

It might be an idea to put a banner for this on the main page so its not missed by customers that may not view community pages that often.

Thanks to those who have commented so far - @wcevans1978 we've put a promotion into Online Banking, and there will be one coming in the App too - hoping that will get us enough interest! But thanks for your idea.

@JamieJ  I hope I don't sound out of turn and I know I am an eager **bleep** but do we know know

how long before we can ALL start to shape our great banking experience? I have never done anything

like this before so its a first really excited and can't wait.

The first thing I would mention is the registration page for the community does not show the catcha box (I am not a robot) in chrome I had to register in Edge to circumvent this issue. Also Lastpass password manager does not allow the password box to be completed, this means you have to faff around copy and pasting the password or worse, use a password that you can remember and one that is probably used on other services, thus reducing security.

Finally, I did chuckle at the **bleeping** of B E A V E R so thanks for that.

@JamieJPublicity - Ohhh no I am not fussed on any of that, No I meant when are we are going to get started on our great banking experience.

I was really taken back by the Beaver word being omitted out. For a minute I thought I had used foul language and had to sit back for a few minutes and re-traced what I had written. At least I gave everybody a laugh at my expense lol :-)

Having spent some considerable time in attempting to register I found the following comment from a previous user which hadn't been taken up by Tesco on-line banking!

I was pleased to note that this has now been rectified!!
I am pleased to participate in this "Community" system so as to assist with improving the Tesco Bank service to customers.
Perhaps someone can explain why Chrome is the ONLY browser that can access Tesco bank? I have to switch from Explorer every time I wish to log on.
It would also be useful if the logging on screen could display larger dots when entering password etc. - this would be especially useful for those with impaired vision.
