Hope this feedback for this feature gets considered soon. Enjoy using the Tesco Credit Card. Thanks.

One of two snags, which may or may not be an issue for you but it's important people are aware: I believe you lose your Section 75 protection if you use your (any) credit card through Curve. This is because your transaction with the retailer is through the Curve debit Mastercard, not your credit card. Debit cards don't come with Section 75 protection.
Also, you might not get any Tesco Clubcard points that you would get if you used the credit card directly. I say 'might' because I get conflicting information from different Tesco employees, and I haven't tried it, mainly because I don't have a Tesco credit card myself, and am an ApplePay user, anyway. -

Let put it like that in 2021 Tesco Bank still favor Apple users and not android users. I bet if they use android pay they might get more customers because they are shooting them self in the foot a bit.

It's frustrating that I can't use my Samsung pay or Google pay. Instead I have a credit card wallet case on my phone, so as long as you disable NFC, it works contactless. A workaround I use, but do hope one day tesco will embrace android pay. Must be higher fees than Apple pay? Or maybe tesco management all have iPhones?

Count me as another credit card user you have lost.
£2000 a month now being spent with Halifax as they support google pay. -

So there are >69,000 views over many years - so do the Tesco Credit Card team really care about us, as users? I THINK NOT! Yet another new card provided this week that cannot be used on Google Pay. I don't want an iPhone, but they only cater for Apple users fully and have maintained this position for soooo loooonnnggg.
Seriously, I use other cards in preference because of this issue and its availability. Why are they so behind in their tech compared to ALL my other cards? Perhaps it's because they are such a small company ?!, no - it's because they can ignore all of us and still keep going...

Logging it doesn't seem to be getting any of us anywhere. Best not to replay at all! -

Any chance Tesco has revisited this baffling decision yet?

I just want to add my name to the growing list of frustrated customers who want to use GooglePay.
Come on Tesco, get with the program.

Tesco credit card has been the only one I've used for 15-20 years
Like everyone else on this thread and the hundreds of thousands who feel the same but aren't posting, I cannot believe this bizarre decision from Tesco. Now I have purchased an Android (previously on Apple) I have no choice but to shift to a new credit card to continue my in-store purchasing habits
Come on Tesco. Isn't it time you caught up? You can't be that confident of your market share that you can ignore such a huge proportion of your customer base? -

I too have now had enough of waiting, I've been patient for 3 years, but now had enough.
I have only signed up to this community to add this post, as I am that *&&*& off with it. As someone has already stated, with the number of view this thread has had, you really should have got the hint by now, your customers want this.
But You really don't give a damn about what your customers want, just be honest about it.
I have actually spent more of my wasted time on Tesco yet again.

Well I must hold the record for having a Tesco Credit Card for the shortest amount of time. My card arrived today, and I've already closed the account!
Can I ask that Tesco makes it clear to prospective customers that they do not support Google Pay at the time of application? Tesco has wasted my time, their time in setting the account up and now for closing it. They've also sent plastic cards through the post that will not be used.
Unless Tesco is actually going to change it's position with regard to accepting Google Pay, and/or change their website to advise customers at the time of application that they don't accept Google/Android Pay, I'd ask them not to respond to this post with a generic statement that is not genuine. -

Just came to say I signed up to this card to find it isn't compatible with Google pay. Very disappointed. Can't believe it's 2022 and still no Google pay support!

Any further update on this, Tesco Bank? What is the rationale behind making things inconvenient for your customers (I mean beyond the meaningless "it was a business decision" line that has been trotted out before). Surely Tesco Bank is losing money on this - every time a Google Pay user wants to make a purchase, they are forced to use a different card... it makes no sense to me at all...!

It is disappointing that Tesco card is still not available on Google pay. Perhaps +85k views of this topic and an Android share of the market of +70% would suggest a review of the "business decision" is long overdue.

I've just tried to add my card to Google Pay, and ended up reading this very frustrating thread.
It seems that Tesco's community employees have given up responding to the continuing complaints, possibly because "I will feed this back to the relevant team" clearly has no effect, and stating that it is "a business decision" is the equivalent of a parent saying "because I said so".
So many people have asked for an explanation why Tesco won't or can't do what we are asking for. How arrogant must they be to ignore our requests for an explanation?
When so many other banks are able to allow Google Pay, the least you can do is give a proper explanation. -

I've just received my card today and I'll think I'll stop using it now.
I've got cards from online only companies that support Google pay. I'm assuming the 'business reason' is likely just analytics. Sorry but it's not worth the hassle for me. Would much prefer to use a different card, fortunately I've got options.
Bye. -

@ChristinaG we have 2022 and nothing changed.. Tesco Bank is making fun of their clients

04-07-22, 14:36Nnw49Google Pay and Tesco Credit cards
Having had a Tesco Credit card for a couple of years, I think I'll start looking for a different one that actually supports Google Pay...
It's very frustrating not being able to use it in an application that so many other (proper) banks support.
The world has gone contactless over the last couple of years (if you've not noticed!) and I tend to break the contractless facility in cards - hence wanting to be able to use my phone -
24-07-22, 21:07Jimx
@ChristinaG can Tesco provide a date when they will extend this service to Android phone users or should we all simply bank and shop elsewhere?
-

Tesco clearly don't want you to use their Mastercard on Google pay so must be missing out on lots of potential interest charges - strange 'Business Decision'
that they choose not to share the reason for. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 -
06-08-22, 20:10Aleccee
That's a couple of years now when I posted the original question. It seems like the admins don't even want to respond any more. What's the point of a community when clearly TESCO don't respond nor indeed listen to said community.
- - - Updated - - -
So ChristinaG, it's now over 2 years 3 months since my first post. What now is the current position? You are clearly against 65% of the mobile market - really strange business decision. You have concentrated on Tesco Clubcard+, I wonder what a disaster that was compared to the anti-google, anti-majority stance you are taking -

[QUOTE=KellyT;, I'm afraid we don't currently support Google Pay. This is changing though, and we’ll keep customers updated on developments on the Community and website. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your patience.[/QUOTE]
This is changing? About time! When will we hear the intended date? I just got my new look Credit card with no explanation of if it was the same as the old one which was a world MasterCard or something.... And the leaflet says you can use 'services like Apple Pay' with no comment on Google Wallet formerly known as Google Pay. Like many, I used to use my Tesco card to rack up points, but switched to Amex whenever I can and now Halifax cashback when it's not accepted so Tesco never gets a look in. Up to you Tesco... Stay in a drawer or come into 2022! -
08-08-22, 09:56RossM
@kingstonite We are actively looking into Google Wallet. When we have more information to share I'll let the Community know.

As far as I can tell ,trawling the internet, Apple don't charge but Google charge 3% for credit card transactions. If this is the real reason behind the "business" decision then say so and I will download the Tesco app. If you treat us like mushrooms then I will assume you are Apple fanboys and dump the Tesco card!
