Contactless and Apple Pay

Hi everyone! We just wanted to give you an update on where we are right now with Apple Pay and current accounts.

You'll all be happy to know that we’re working on it! Our debit cards are Visa, so we need to put in place different technology for current accounts to support Apple Pay. We can’t commit to a specific date yet, but rest assured we want to make banking easier for you, and we will let you know here soon in Community once the plans are more final.

I hope that helps, and we can't wait to get you all set up on your iPhones and Apple Watches (or am I the only person still using one?!)

Is there an update on Current Accounts and Apple Pay? Was wondering as I get as far as the Terms of Use screen when adding a Visa Debit card but accepting these terms leads to a "unable to add card" screen.

I'm sorry @chaddman30, I don’t have an update for you as of yet. As soon as I find out more information about this I'll let you and the members of this community know.

Hi , all our current account cards are contactless as standard. A lot of our new credit cards are contactless too! :-)

Just out of interest my Debit Card is one where the transaction needs to be authorised online at time of payment. As some contactless terminals i.e. TfL complete their authorisations 'offline' would that impact on functionality at all? Thank you.
