I have a Tesco credit card with a limit of £5000. I will need to make a credit card purchase that is above that value.
Is it requesting a credit limit increase my only option, or would Tesco accept if I overpay the card balance so that the available credit is my limit plus the value I “deposited” on the account?
Couldn’t find any reference to this in the terms and conditions.
Do you need some help?

The best option is to increase your credit limit which you can do from home via online banking or via the app.
Here is a link with more information: https://yourcommunity.tescobank.com/...y-credit-limit
Alternatively you can call the Credit Card Team on 0345 300 4278 or 0800 406050 who will be only too happy to assist you.
Hope this helps!!

Hi @AgainstGreaterOdds, thanks for getting in touch. I'm afraid the only option would be to request a credit limit increase on your account to enable you to make the purchase, or use another method of payment. Please follow the link that @25H has provided above for some more information surrounding credit limit increases.
Most, if not all, credit card providers don't allow overpayments (it'll be in the Terms and Conditions somewhere)-I'm also sure I've seen elsewhere doing so also revokes any Section 75 protection in the event of a claim.
