Hi NSRMC28
Thanks for the post and welcome.
We don’t have any plans right now to build a banking app for Windows phones. However this is often reviewed based on customers feedback, if things change you will be one of the first to know. -

I love Windows phone and its certainly on the rise now that Microsoft have fully taken over production. Its the most secure platform yet it's the least supported by all of the major institutions, why do none of the banks provide an mobile app, its so easy to write one based on an Android app even. I bank with HSBC and even they won't put the effort in to support it. Come on Tesco, you're quick enough to take our money and want our service, yet dont wishto spend a little time and money to write a Windows app .... Use an undergraduate on his/her summer out of uni to write it as their project, you've done the hard work by having an on-line app

I certainly am not going to thank the person for his reply as it is not the answer I wanted.Other banks have taken the time and effort to make an app for windows so I don't see why Tesco can't make one available .

Agreed, I love my Windows phone and when Windows 10 comes along and integrates desktop, tablet and mobile not having an app is going to be a major disadvantage. RBS, a proper bank, have one and it is really good.

It is rediculious, windows phone is the best OS, having been an iPhone user for years getting fed up with paying for a name - Can believe Tesco bank not looking into this, when Natwest already have one, and Nationwide are currently developing one and it will be out soon accordiing to there customer services department - Mobile banking is almost thr norm now and not to support a windows OS is pure madness

28-06-15, 10:50timsutcliffeRe: WHEN IS AN APP FOR WINDOWS PHONE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE?
While I agree that it's a nice OS, it only had a 7% market share in 2014 (http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...nance-falters). I guess that's not enough to make them worry about an app. Maybe it will change.
-
14-07-15, 00:01JacobyteRe: WHEN IS AN APP FOR WINDOWS PHONE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE?
Not very helpful to ignore an OS that covers apparently 7% of the market. I personally have found Windows to be much better than Android and Apple and have no intention of changing. But I will have no problem changing who I shop and Bank with if I can find someone who better suits my needs.

I too love my Windows phone much better than other platforms. Come on Tesco, why discriminate against us? let's have a Windows App soon please

I can't believe that Tesco does not have plans to create and app for Windows Phones. I realise that Windows may be relatively new to mobile phones, but come on Tesco, this is Microsoft they are not going to go away, they are getting bigger as more and more people switch to Windows Phones as it perfectly syncs with their Windows PC’s, Tablets etc. etc. I bought my Nokia Lumia 930 Windows Phone from Tesco, Tesco shouldn’t wait for more people to ask for Windows Phone platform, you should have it already.

I note that some of these posts are now 5 months plus old. Have Tesco now made plans for Windows Phone Platform Banking App. Please reply, no news is worse than a negative reply. wrote:

09-01-16, 12:28cosmicnetLooks like I might have to leave Tesco bank :(
Up until this point I've been impressed with the Tesco bank customer service, the people on the phone have been good, etc. I had an Android phone, and I used the Tesco banking App A LOT, most days. I've just got a new Windows phone and to my horror Tesco have no banking App. Barclays Bank doLLoyds do So my old current accounts are working great with my new phone. But Tesco isn't, nor do you appear to have any plans to. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker. If this situation isn't rectified soon then I'll be moving my account back to Barclays or Lloyds who do have support - and I suggest anyone else with a Windows phone to do the same, it may be the only way to get Tesco bank to get their act together. I will not have a bank account limit my choices in technology. Lyle

Hi ,
We're always looking for ways to help our customer’s access their accounts and I'm sorry to read that you're thinking of leaving Tesco Bank because of the lack of support for Windows phones.
Currently, we don't have any plans to support Windows phones, but I'll make sure that your message is passed on as feedback.
You should still be able to use the main website through your phones browser, and if we change the devices that we support, you'll find it at this link: http://www.tescobank.com/online-bank...obile-app.html -
11-01-16, 10:38cosmicnetRe: Looks like I might have to leave Tesco bank :(
That's not really an option, or not a good one, as only part of your site is mobile friendly! I can login fine, but then as soon as I click through to my account it changes to a design from the 90's that isn't in the slightest bit mobile friendly, making viewing my statements an absolute chore. So I'm afraid you've failed all around on this one! It wouldn't even cost much to develop the windows app, nor would it to make the whole site mobile friendly. I can't possibly see a justification for not doing it!

89.9m UK mobile subscriptions:http://media.ofcom.org.uk/facts/ Windows phone grows market share:http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-p...verywhere-elsehttp://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...rtphone-growth Is someone at Tesco's thinks that a smaller market share means there aren't many people affected, they've got their head firmly stuck up their arse. Even at just 10%, that's 8.99 million mobiles!

13-01-16, 10:00TeguiseRe: Looks like I might have to leave Tesco bank :(
Have to support Lyle here, I have been using the Android app to track my personal savings account and my credit card transactions and have been a great fan of mobile banking, having just moved to a windows phone you can imagine my frustration to discover that Tesco's have no support for the platform and no plans to develop an app. A quick check reveals the the following banks consider it worth providing a mobile app that supports windows, Barclays, Nat West, Lloyds, Halifax, TSB, RBS, First Direct and the Bank of Scotland, so it seems to me that it shouldn't present too many problems to leave Tesco's, even though this is not the action I would have wanted to take. I currently use Tesco's for credit card and personal banking, house insurance, and shopping and in the past have used you for car loans and feel so frustrated that as a company you have decided to ignore what is going to be a growing number of customers. Like the person who's thread I am following I see no real option other that to move my money to someone who values my custom. Mark

How can Tesco not get an app for windows phone, Tesco Phone Shop sell windows phones and tablets, often bundled as a sales promotion. You sell the phones to your customers and then say there is no demand? Come on Tesco catch up with the big banks and realise that all customers are important, otherwise you won't have them any more!

Hi
Each and every customer is important to us, and we do appreciate your comments on this. We will continue to feedback all comments and demand for a Windows app. I understand this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, however, at the moment we have no current plans for a Windows version. We will of course keep all of our Community members updated if this is ever set to change. -
03-02-16, 17:55TeguiseRe: Can I access the Mobile Banking App from any device?
Thanks for replying to the last post reference a banking app for windows, sadly no reply to my post ref leaving Tesco's because of their lack of support for this platform, but at least I now have response from someone at Tesco's. As I mentioned in my post this lack of care for your windows customers is a deal breaker for me and I will be taking my custom elsewhere, I have now been using Sainsbury's for my major weekly shop for 4 weeks, will start transfering funds out of my Tesco personal account from next week and will now start looking for an alternative credit card. As I have always considered myself a loyal Tesco's customer, I feel frustrated that this is my only option, but maybe the indifference youare showing to your customers over this issue is indicitive of your future business model.

Hi
I'm really sorry there was no response on your last post; please accept my apologies on this. We do value all of our customers and the feedback brought to us regarding the demand for a Windows app. We certainly wouldn't want to see you leave over this; however I appreciate as a Windows customer this is something that is as you say a deal breaker. We can't deliver everything and have to prioritise which means at this time we are unable to support users of Windows phones with our Mobile App.
I understand this is not the response you were hoping for. If you would like to privately message me with your DOB & postcode in the format shown below, I will log your comments on this matter.

Hi Ashleigh, Thanks for taking the trouble to respond, the lack of support from Tesco's banking for windows mobile customers is no longer an issue for me as I have just received my new credit card and new savings account details from a bank which has taken the trouble to support the windows platform, so sadly after over 15 years of being a loyal Tesco's customer our relationship has come to an end. Whilst no longer an issue for me, I would suggest that Tesco's as a company look at the way in which they support an admittedly minority market, before other windows customers feel that they have no option but to take the action I have.

28-02-16, 12:57Beeje13Re: WHEN IS AN APP FOR WINDOWS PHONE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE?
Sorry to play devil's advocate, but it will be a big effort to create and more importantly operate something as security sensitive as a banking app. It definitely shouldn't be outsourced or made by a university student in their free time. For a bank the size of Tesco, from a management point of view it might not make sense. However having a Windows app could entice new users. There are people here who discovered too late about the lack of the app. But who knows how many people didn't pursue an application knowing there wasn't a windows app. I use the android app on my phone and it's very good, design, feature and performance wise. I have an Amazon tablet though so I know what it's like to have less than perfect app support (no Tesco or Lloyds apps there). Just my 2 cents. Telling the Tesco Bank social media channels your frustration might highlight the issue more.

I'm a bit gutted about Windows phones to be honest, if they ended up anything like Surface devices then they could have been amazing!!!
