Hi @gborjones
You can download the last 90 days of transactions (excluding Pending) in either a Microsoft Excel compatible format (csv) or tsv.
- Log in to Online Banking and click on the arrow to expand your selected account.
- Within the Transaction Tab, click on the Download button towards the top right hand side where you will be presented with an option to download your transactions in either a Microsoft Excel compatible format (csv) or tsv.
- Once you have selected your file format, your transactions will be downloaded within your current browser tab.
- hope this helps

I have a credit card online banking account

Thanks. The reason I asked how to download a .qif was because that's the file type my software uses (also .ofc or .ofx). The .csv and tsv formats are no use to me. -

Thanks for stepping in and confirming this, @CSKBrambles. @gborjones, please follow the steps provided - Keigan

I'm afraid we don't currently have the option to download transactions in .qif format. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience this causes, and I'll pass this on as feedback to our team today - Kelly

You had the option to download qif files on the old website and I had used it for years. I would also like it to be reinstated.
It is so much easier to download the qif and have it automatically import into a program. Old dogs, new tricks etc. -

Hi @sluggy, I'm afraid we are unable to reinstate this, apologies for the inconvenience. We have passed this on to our team as feedback.

The ability to download transactions as a qif is there (don't know if it disappeared and came back again or I was just not switched on that day).
From the standard new website, it only offers the choice of csv or tsv.
However, going the path of selecting 'more->manage account' to get to the old web site and then 'view transactions' you are presented with the options for csv, tsv or qif. -

Why has this suddenly been disabled from your website - I have used this for years and come this month and now can only download transactions in CSV or TSV neither of which are of use for my accounts software?

For credit cars you only need to go to Manage Account>>View Transactions>>Transaction Summary and select the required format, in this case .qif (Quicken and MS Money)

Hi @xxxrowdyyatesxxx, thanks for getting in touch. I'm afraid that we only support .csv and .tsv formats at the moment. I will pass on your comment as some feedback which we constantly review to improve our services.

I want to add my voice to this too.
I also require the QIF format for exporting transactions, CSV and TSV are no use as I need to spend time reformatting these.
As people have said, other Banks seem to be fine offering that as an export option and you used to as well - what not just bring it back?!?! -

@CSKBrambles - I can't believe that this has been removed yet again! upto today I could access QIF format by going into manage account view transactions download in QIF - however this has been removed - my accounts package does not recognise CSV and TSV this means manually entering around 100 transactions every month also it appears that you cannot even select a to and from date but the last 90 days!- if this is going to be the case I will definitely be changing credit cards - can you confirm if this will be reinstated before I change cards?

Hi @jill2308, thanks for getting in touch. We recently made changes to our online platform that has resulted in being no longer able to download transaction information in all previously allowed formats. We will be reviewing the download formats available over the coming months so I would ask that you keep an eye on the Community pages for further updates.

Hi @jill2308
I'm sorry but i can't confirm this for you.
There are no plans currently to reinstate the .qif format for transaction downloads.
That's not to say that it won't happen at some point, but there's no imminent announcement of changes that i'm aware of.
Kindest Regards,
Chris @CSKBrambles -

Same here.
I've just paid off one account so that I can close that tomorrow, and the other one will be closed in the next few days. Had no problems with Tesco credit cards for 10+ years, but removing QIF is just an unnecessary headache.
Equally I'm not going to wait around on the off chance it gets put back on the product backlog. You already have the functionality in the code base. -

I would add my voice to the demand for the return of qif file formats. I am still using Quicken and the only way I can get my credit card data into my accounting system is by utilising a complex set of spreadsheet formulas to extract the data from the csv format and reorder it into the right shape for qif. It would be interesting to know from Tesco Bank how many cardholders were using the facility and why it has been withdrawn.

Hi @loxleybottom, I'm really sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. Due to recent changes to our Online Banking platform we're no longer able to support this format. We'll pass on all comments received on this thread as customer feedback for our team to review.

01-10-21, 11:46PhutchingsSolution to QIF Download Problem - CSV to QIF Conversion
@KellyT I had this same issue with you and believe I have come up with a working solution that will help you and your users.
I managed to track down an Excel Add-In which easily converts CSV files into QIF format. I have also posted a video here on YouTube showing people step by step exactly how to download and use it.
I would love you, or one of your team to review and test it. You can then hopefully use it as the go-to solution for anyone experiencing this issue.
Regards
Paul Hutchings

hi, thanks for this, but as tesco are closing current bank accounts now, im moving elsewhere

Can I refer you to the thread "OFX / QIF File Format - No Longer Supported" where there are 22 pages of complaints about this, interspersed with unhelpful replies from Tesco Bank? I think most credit card users have now given up on their "Credit Card journey" with Tesco and gone elsewhere!
