I used to be able to download (in April 2021) the transactions from my latest statement only? Where has this option gone? I don't want to download transactions I have already downloaded in previous months.

Hi @HAZZY1966, thanks for getting in touch. We've made some updates to our online banking service, and I'm afraid this option is no longer available. You'll still be able to download the last 90 days of transactions (excluding pending). I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by this - Kelly

I've been using Microsoft Money and then Moneydance for years to manage personal finances. Have always been able to download files of transactions without problem in either OFX,QFX,OFC or QIF format from every bank/credit card provider and until last month could get the right format for my Tesco account. Today I find that only .tsv or .csv format is available which is not easily compatible with money management software. Please, please can this option be put back? And I also agree with HAZZY1966 that the option to download the latest statement is required!

I have just registered with the Community solely to leave this comment.
For years and years I have downloaded statement data in OFX,QFX,OFC or QIF format and I too still use Microsoft Money (exactly as yorkie42 and I suspect HAZZY1966)
I recall years ago that I stopped using a card solely because they stopped export support and I couldn't easily download transactions anymore in the right format. I'm afraid you have just turned-off a massive community like us - GenX users and big spenders!
All we want is for (a) one of those formats supported (it is honestly not a big change, simple matter of parsing a text file), and (b) ideally a customised date range option.
Over to you! -

@JoeC
Thank you Joe. I am not a computer geek and don't want to share my transactions with 3rd party sites, so I will need to manually enter all my transactions into Moneydance. I am not prepared to do that for months on the off-chance that you respond to feedback and reinstate the download options. After decades with Tesco, we are going to have to change to an alternative credit card. -

Totally agree with previous comments, I have downloaded monthly for 10 years. Now i will need to manually enter all transactions. After many years of banking with you i will now be looking for an alternative supplier. Why did you remove such a basic function as being able to download a monthly statement compatible with other money tools? Cost saving? Mistake? Just to annoy your customers? I really struggle to see why you would do this and I also fail to see any improvement otherwise in the presentation or functionality of the pages.... Please listen to your customers, many are affected but few will comment. I registered just to make this clear.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts @johnleonard. I've logged your feedback, so this can be considered in line with the update and removal of formats. I'm afraid this has been the result of an update to our website, but we have no further information at this time on that. We'll review all of this feedback to continue to improve our services. I'm so sorry for the trouble

Hi there - I echo the previous comments I spend 10's of £K per year on Tesco Card - I will be stopping using card and moving to another as I cannot wait months for you to change back and cannot otherwise monitor my spending - Sorry you have lost me
-
23-05-21, 15:03bilbomacuser
I too will be moving to a different credit card because of this. For quite a while you have had a 'modern' part of the Tesco Bank web site and an 'old' part - and I've had to go to the old part to download the qif which is now no longer available. You should have had statistics that showed how many people were still having to download the files from the old part of the site - so either the web developers are incompetent or they didn't care. -

Hi
As per previous comments why have you removed the ability to download a csv file for a chosen date range.? I have been using the facility for years and this change is going to make reconciling my account much more time consuming. As previous people have said I may have to look at switching to an alternative payment card which is disappointing. -

I will add my name to the list of the dissatisfied. Like many of my generation I have learned how to budget wisely, and now able to spend in retirement. For all its faults MS Money still does the one thing no other programme does- project forward. Cash flow forecasting is what anyone with any sense wants to know, business or personal. It's too late scrutinising where the money was spent once you're in the red! Or maybe thanks exactly what Tesco wants? A generation who can't budget and end up paying interest every month?
Being able to download a QIF or OFX file is critical. Please bring it back ASAP. -

@FuzzyB, @bilbomacuser, @caroline61, @BigMamou I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by the changes online. I've added all your comments to our customer feedback.

I just want to echo comments of others here, I use QIF/OFX export facility all the time for my Tesco Credit Card transactions into MS Money, and am really suffering the loss of this feature now that it has been removed.

Just adding my comments to this thread. The option to download each months transactions is invaluable for budgeting. Why do we have to go back 90 days every time causing duplicate transactions. The format is also not working now. please revert to the previous system Tesco

I'm another very dissatisfied customer, I have been downloading my transactions into Quickbooks for accounting purposes and I cant seem to do this anymore. I assume this is a result of the change you've made. I have just applied for an alternative credit card as I don't have the time to manually enter all my transactions.
Seriously why remove a feature that allows us to move into a digital world and help remove the paper. Do your home work Tescos ask your customers what they want! -

Another customer using MS Money. Long standing Tesco customer but will look elsewhere now. Anybody got any recommendations on other cards that support MS money downloads?

🤬 Another unsatisfied customer who has only registered on these forums to express my dismay at a company that regresses the functionality of their website rather than improving it.
I, and many others, as you can see from this thread, have been using a money management tool for many years and rely on the ability to download qif/ofx files to import into Microsoft Money. A CSV file is next to useless.
Can you suggest a money management tool with the power/functionality of MS Money that actually uses CSV's ? -

Just registered on this forum to add my name to the long list of customers that is p* off that you have removed the ability to export in QIF format.
I too have 100's of transactions per month and have no intention of logging these manually into my money tracker. For those that have asked previously - Santander Credit Card offer the ability to export in QIF. -
07-06-21, 09:26philbean
Can only echo the comments above.
If QIF or OFX downloads are not restored then I'll be closing my account.
It may seem drastic but, without consultation, you have removed functionality from my account that makes it impossible to download into my accounting software.
Halifax, HSBC and Barclaycard all offer this functionality.
Please sort this asap. Thanks. -

Hi, I was about to download my monthly transactions into excel which I've done every month for years. The option was no longer appearing and I had to google the question to find out why it wasn't working. That lead me to this thread so I have registered to the Community to join in. I use this function to work out the split between mine and my partner's joint expenditure and mine alone. I now how to do this manually which is very fiddly.
I agree with all the other comments on this thread. Please please please can this function be put back. Thank you. -

Thanks for sharing your views on this @caroh, we appreciate your feedback and are continuing to pass on all the feedback we receive on this thread. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

I am in exactly the same position. Unless the facility to download transactions into Moneydance (Microsoft Money format) is reinstated within the next few weeks, I shall transfer to an alternative credit card. I am not going to waste time entering all our transactions manually.

Apologies for any inconvenience the changes have caused @j7norfolk, our team are reviewing all the customer feedback we've received on this thread.

Yet another customer who has joined just to register my dissatisfaction having used the download to Microsoft Money for over 10 years. I'm sure another provider would be willing to take on my considerable annual expenditure . Get it sorted Tesco!

I'm usually very satisfied with Tesco services. However on this occasion the removal of functionality for transaction downloads is a backward step. During the development process for the new design, customer research and usage data for this functionality should have established the customer need to retain and indeed improve it.
Please reinstate the ability to download transactions based on statement dates or (preferably) on user selected start/end dates, along with re-enabling the alternative file formats that the users on this thread depend upon.
It’s not that technically hard to do, the UX only needs small changes, so ultimately Tesco needs to make a business decision to prioritise it.
-

@SteveE At present we have removed the functionality while we do some system improvements and updates. We do plan to reinstate the previous options in the next few months, which will support a number of file types. However, I cannot provide you with a set timescale for this. However I fully appreciate your concern and have passed on your feedback. Really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Tesco. Please reinstate the ability to download monthly transactions in qif format.
You are burning my time only offering last 90 days in csv.
I cannot understand why you would remove a facility that I am sure many people use.
I will be leaving if you cannot get your act together. I will stick around for a few months in the hope that the previous transaction download options are reinstated.
Please , please, please... Get your act together!!! -

I can not believe that people have been complaining for months and Tesco Bank have done nothing to correct there error.
I have been using this system for over 20 years and now I go to do my accounts and download my transactions to my microsoft money and I can not do this which is so inconvient. its crazy that I now have to find an alternative credit card company to work with my microsoft money. -

Hi @lisahood, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We do plan to reinstate the previous options in the next few months, which will support a number of file types. I'm afraid I can't provide you with a set timescale for this. However, we will update our Community pages when this happens.

Usually, a statement from a transaction is attached to information about a transaction you or someone else has made. For example, when I transfer money, the bank shows me a scan of the statement of how much and to whom I transferred money to my account and confirms it with a blue stamp. Don't you find such a feature in your app? Also, if you can't do it, you can track and download the transaction if you can generate paycheck stub. This method will probably be even more accessible than I described above. I'm comfortable with both options, but I often use the second one.
