Hi, I might be missing the answer to this in the help sections but hoping someone can answer this. We've got a credit card account that's currently set up to pay a fixed amount by direct debit each month. This month the balance on the statement is less than this fixed amount, yet on the statement it says they will take fixed amount of X (the usual, higher fixed amount). What I'd like to know is if they will take the fixed amount, even though it's higher than the balance of the card or whether they'll just take the full balance? Thank you! Jane

Just thought I'd update this, on the off chance that anyone else has the same question (husband has now spoken to them) but they would have still taken out the fixed amount, even though it's higher than the balance of the card.

I think you may have been given incorrect advice. I also pay a fixed amount and each month, it appears to only take the outstanding balance if it is lower.
They have not taken me into credit, even though my Direct Debit is set up to take a fixed payment. -

You're right, when a fixed amount direct debit is in place and the balance on the statement that is due for payment is less than that amount, then only the amount outstanding would be collected.

Thanks for your replies. Both the statement and the person on the customer helpline said that the full fixed payment would be taken, despite balance being £300 less. So they've done something with the DD to change it to balance amount but unsure whether it's going to work this month so keeping an eye on it. Had issues in the past with being told to make a manual payment and then Tesco attempting to take DD anyway (3 times in one month) so not making manual payment until I know DD hasn't gone.

- request by law enforcement or other government agencies;

Termination of your registration includes removal of access to all offerings within Your Community and may also prevent you from engaging in further use of Your Community. By submitting your email address to register, you agree that our third party service providers and the moderators may use your email address to contact you directly about your profile or any content you post on User Community and for other administrative purposes related to Your Community.
You further agree that if you wish to collect or use information or content posted or relating to other Your Community users, you must first obtain the relevant user's consent and make it clear that you (and not Tesco Bank) are collecting their information, the reason for which you're collecting their information and explain the purpose for which the information will be used.
IndemnificationYou agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless from and against any and all losses, damages, liabilities and costs (including, without limitation, settlement costs and any legal or other fees and expenses for investigating or defending any actions or threatened actions) incurred by the Indemnified Parties in connection with any claim arising out of any breach by you of these Terms of Service or the House Rules or claims arising from your content or conduct. 'Indemnified Parties' includes us, the moderators, and all respective officers, directors, owners, employees, agents, representatives, and assigns.
You agree to cooperate with us in the defence of any claim. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to employ separate legal representation and assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you.
All third party content (content posted or communicated by registered users including any content) is the sole responsibility of the registered user posting or communicating the content. You acknowledge and agree that we don't control and are not responsible for the third party content.
