Great news! Very slow though but at least it's on it's way.
When will Tesco allow contactless instore, namely self check outs? Apple pay being availble is great, allowing it's use in you're own stores would be icing on the cake :) -

Welcome to the club Tesco! I've been using Apple Pay since the service launched in July (Santander 123). I've even used the service in your High Street Kensington branch of Tesco Metro. Now all we need is Apple Pay within a Tesco store outside of Central London! It'd be great if we could add our Clubcard loyalty card to the Wallet app; it's now possible within iOS 9 and Walgreen's (an American pharmacy chain) are rolling this out in their stores so please follow suit?

Great News I use Apple Pay all the time with HSBC, its so secure and easy, So to be able to use it with my Tesco Credit Card woud be a very useful addition to the facility, Do we have an estimated date when it will be avaialble to us?

14-11-15, 16:07topsy75Re: Apple Pay is coming!
That is Fantastic. I can imagine the reason why it's next year is because contactless payment will be widely available in all Tesco stores outside london. Tesco Hampton Peterborough definatly not using Contactless at the moment. But i heard the store attendant saying after christmas it will be ready. So put all these together, I'II say January Apple Pay will be available.

I called into my local Tesco Metro in Derby and have spotted some Ingenico terminals that Morrison's also use (contactless).
Fingers crossed this means stores outside of Central London (when the terminals are upgraded) will be ready for Apple Pay! -

I am kind of sad that I won't be able to use my Debit Card at the moment. Hmm, it makes me feel like we are second class citizen. I would have thought is the same technology. If you could implement the Credit Card, why not Debit Card. Well second class citizens can wait.

I agree why couldn't it have been both the credit card and current accounts. Just hope there's not too much of a wait for current accounts now.

Be nice when it accepts VISA as well as Mastercard... any news when that will be? Andy
-
20-11-15, 22:13chaddman30Re: Apple Pay is here!
Hello Andy, A lot of legacy Visa Credit cards are not supported by many of the mainstream banks (i.e. Royal Bank of Scotland, NatWest and Lloyds Bank). Why this is I don't know but it may be a case of requesting your card to be transferred to the MasterCard variant.

Delighted to hear you're supporting Apple Pay.
When does it roll out to everyone?
Tesco bank MasterCard only at the minute.
Any suggestions when the rest of your patient customers will get it rolled out? -
30-11-15, 07:19chaddman30Re: Apple Pay - Current account visa debit
I'm pretty sure I've read eligible Visa Debit card customers will be able to use Apple Pay from January 2016.

I called into my local Tesco Metro (in Derby) today after spotting contactless capable terminals. Great news! I can use Apple Pay outside of London (at last!)

Hi, yes Apple Pay will be available for our current account in 2016, we don't have a date yet but we’ll let you know when we can. -

Any further news of when current account will be available on Apple Pay? Seriously considering moving banks unless it's due soon, even Barclays is due to activate it
-

I also agree with you. I am a recent TB customer and I am happy with my contactless card, However no sign of AP. I have a barclays contactless card also and basically the first bank to give me access on a DEBIT card wins the business of the other bank for good. So. Let's see who manages that (probably Barclays, which is a shame as I would rather it be tesco)

Well this page is ****
tescotechsupport . com / feature / how-to-use-apple-pay-in-the-uk /
It mentions a debit card, not allowed yet. It mentions no phone apart from an Iphone 6S or 6S plus or a 5 with a watch
Incorrect again
Ill give you until May and then I am off. -
05-04-16, 10:55Jamie_FairlieRe: Apple Pay is here!
I agree that the list of devices on that page is outdated (can you expect people to update every article when a new device is released?) Also, this is just explaining "how to use Apple Pay in the UK" not how Apple Pay works with Tesco Bank accounts.

06-04-16, 10:15JamieJRe: Apple Pay is here!
Hi yes that article looks like it was created at one of the launches of Apple Pay last year. It's not a Tesco-specific guide but a general one as says.
Sorry but we don't have a confirmed date for Apple Pay for our Debit Cards yet, but we have firmed up dates for contactless for Credit Cards. We will let people know here first once we got more information. -

lol I had a Barclays account before I came to Tesco. I've had them both. Tesco might well yes. But then again time will tell. I can always return. -

I notice no further comment from Tesco Bank.

12-04-16, 11:07pcoventry76Re: Apple Pay is here!
I think the ASA should strip them of their Apple Pay Claim. You can't dsicount your entire debit card/current account customer base and claim you fully support it just because a hand full of credit card customers have it. A complain has gone in anyway. I'd advise everyone to do the same even if you are leaving them.
-
12-04-16, 14:31JamieJRe: Apple Pay is here!
Hi as mentioned previously, we can't confirm a date for Apple Pay with our Debit Cards yet, but we're aiming for this year.
Sorry if you feel miss-led in any way but our website is pretty clear that Apple Pay is only available for Credit Card customers currently. -
12-04-16, 15:29pcoventry76Re: Apple Pay is here!
Hello Well considering it was made out as one of the selling points to get this account. it's a shame I had to be lied to. I'd rather stay with Barclays but thanks

04-05-16, 20:52MartinwindsorRe: How do I use Apple Pay?
Do you want to update the customer information for users of the clubcard credit card, to make them aware that when using this technology within your own stores they don't get the points. To earn the points, you have to also take out your credit card or clubcard fob and ask this to be swiped, so doubling up on transaction time, not the most customer friendly process.
When will Tesco implement one tap with Apple Pay? http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/...e-pay.1971022/

03-06-16, 19:59pcoventry76Re: How do I use Apple Pay?
I always found my Tesco Debit card to be **** too. Everyime I used it in store they had to bypass the clubcard points. I often had contactless fail due to it. So glad I ditched tesco and now use Barclays Apple/Android pay everyday!

04-02-17, 15:13chaddman30Re: Apple Pay is here!
I know a lot of you would like to add your Visa Debit cards to Apple Pay but in the meantime have you had a look at PayQwiq? It acts as a digital wallet too and can be used for transactions above £30 in store-plus it removes the need to scan your Clubcard before completing payment as they are both linked. Have used it several times since the service launched nationally a couple of weeks ago and earned myself a bonus in the way of 500 Clubcard points. Appreciate it's not the answer you're looking for however if you shop regularly at Tesco it's worth checking out.
-
04-02-17, 16:26TraceATRe: Apple Pay is here!
I tried to use PayQwiq in my local Tesco Extra. It wouldn't scan the code whatsoever, no matter how much I tried. A member of staff couldn't help either. Thought it was quite cumbersome to use in comparison to Apple Pay. When I tried PayQwiq I had to unlock my mobile (iPhone6sPlus) then unlock the PayQwik app both with my fingerprint before I could even try to use it. With ApplePay I just hold my handset up to the card reader and authenticate with finger print - job done! It's also down to the retailer to have the £30 spend limit.
