• Close Credit Card Account

    If your account has no outstanding balance and has had no activity within the last two months, you can contact us on Facebook, Twitter, or Your Community to arrange closure. If your account has been active within the last two months and/or you have an outstanding balance then please call us to arrange closure.

    Once your account has been closed it cant be re-opened, should you want another credit card, you would have to re-apply. Once we close your account, you’ll no longer have access to this account via Online Banking or the Mobile App. However if you have other accounts with us that are active they will still be visible via Online Banking and the Mobile app. You will automatically be sent an annual statement on the anniversary of your account opening.

      Hey @W1ntr1p, thanks for your message. You can close the account by post by sending a letter with your details and signature to Tesco Bank Credit Card Operations, PO Box 27028, Broadway One, Glasgow, G2 9FT. Hope this helps - Chris

      Hey @annahpink1 , I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've had. When you call us on the above number, please follow the option for general credit card inquiries and then you'll be put through to the queue to speak to an advisor after entering your credit card number. I'm afraid the team don't communicate through email, so you can close by writing to us, by calling or by sending us a private message to @Tesco-Bank if there has been no activity on your account in the past 2 months. I hope this helps :)

      I have also tried to close an account using the @Tesco-Bank private messaging but the address is noted as not valid. I have now called the helpline who have been able to complete this for me but they also advised that account closures can only be completed over the telephone? It would be good to know that accurate and current advice is available online and when customers call the helpline.

      @Debbie39 Cards can be closed here provided there is a zero balance and the card hasn't been used in two months. I'm sorry you were given the incorrect information on the phone.
