Power of attorney (POA) is a legal document that gives someone the authority to make decisions about property and finances on someone else’s behalf. There are different types of documents:
- In Scotland you might have a continuing POA or combined POA document.
- In England, Wales or Northern Ireland you could have a lasting or enduring POA or a general POA document.
Whether you have a Scottish or English POA, the process for getting third party access to an account is the same.
