• What is a Late Payment fee?

    We’re doing everything we can to help and support customers who have been affected by COVID-19. Read our latest customer update for more details.

    It’s really important you pay at least your minimum payment on time and by your payment due date. This date is clearly shown on your monthly statement and the Mobile Banking App. Otherwise you'll be charged a late payment fee and potentially incur interest too.

    You’ll pay interest on this fee 28 days from when we tell you that the fee has been charged. Interest will be charged at the rate we charge for purchases, and you won’t pay any interest on the interest.

    How can we help?
    To avoid this why not set up an alert via Online Banking to remind you of your due date so you'll never forget again?

      I have been charged a late payment fee on my January 2021 statement which I believe is incorrect. Who do I contact to discuss it?

      I have noticed a late payment fee on my account and a missing payment, I paid the full statement value through the app on the day that it was due, this money has left my bank account so I'm not sure why it is missing nor why I have been charged the late payment fee, could you look into this for me please?

      Why have I have been charged a late payment fee for my credit card? I have a direct debit to pay the full amount on or around the 24th of each month from my Tesco current account, there were the funds in my Tesco current account to cover the £62.00 payment on the day it was due, as far as I can see the payment was taken on 24th Feb 2021 then reversed on the same day, I was then charged £12.00 late payment fee yesterday the 1st March 2021, I do not understand and I am concerned that it will affect my credit rating. I have now paid the £62.00 with my Halifax debit card!

      I have been charged £12 late payment fee on my Credit Card even though I have a Direct Debit set up. I have contacted my bank and they said that nothing was requested by yourselves - so I don't understand what has happened? Can I call someone to discuss?
